The pillow stitch seat was comfortable for driver and passenger. The bike was very heavy but great suspension which the Cross bike lacks. I owned a 2008 Royal Star Venture, which was a very nice touring bike but lacked sever new advancements for a 2008 model. For me this was a very long awaited arrival of the Yamaha big touring bike. I test road this Royal Star Venture a few weeks ago. If I can change out the suspension on my Vic to match that of the Yamaha, I will be set ! With that being said I will stick with my Cross Country Tour for the leg room, style, storage, above the new Venture. My assessment - The bike is well balanced, has great technology, plenty or power and that great suspension. This is why I was so curious about the long awaited touring bike. So I traded my two Yamaha bikes for my 2013 Victory and never looked back. Basically the bike did not change at all from 1998 to 2012 or 2013.
